In April 2024, beauty supplements' total sales revenue in Southeast Asia on Shopee and Lazada reached approximately $110 million, marking a significant year-over-year increase of 42%. The Philippines and Thailand exhibited particularly strong demand, while Malaysia, despite having a smaller market size, showed notable growth potential.
Consumer preferences for beauty supplements vary by country. In the Philippines, collagen and whitening supplements are especially popular, while antioxidant supplements have a higher demand in Thailand.
In terms of brand performance, local Southeast Asian brands are highly competitive. Thai brand Dr. PONG emerged as the top brand in this market, while Japan's DHC and Singapore's KINOHIMITSU hold the second and third positions, respectively. However, the rapid ascent of new brands is noteworthy. For instance, German brand ELASTEN has gained a significant share of the Vietnamese market through its technical expertise and scientific formulations. Emerging Southeast Asian brands like Wink White and Kitsui also performed well in the whitening supplements market.
